Faith In The Future

As wildfires continue to damage his home trails in Oregon, pro runner Mario Mendoza Jr. confronts what the climate crisis means to him not just as a professional athlete, but as a coach, pastor, and father.

Brooks trail athlete, pastor, and coach Mario Mendoza is working to leave a legacy in his community of Central Oregon. His positive influence reaches every corner: from his immediate neighborhood to the vast trails that provide him a deep sense of pride and purpose. Over the years, Mario has watched the places he holds dearly ravaged by wildfires due to the impacts of global warming. But Mario has faith in the future. Mario believes the youth he mentors has the power to help change the trajectory of our climate and protect the trails that connect us all.
