World Trails Film Festival 2024 Award Winners

During the 2024 Awards Showcase, which took place at the World Trails Conference in Ottawa, Canada, we were pleased to announce the following prize winners:

Best Feature: 500 Days in the Wild — Dianne Whelan

Best Short Feature: Durga — Emily Hopcian

Best Short: Sinai Trail — Richard Simko

Best Micro: Blaze — Aidan Sky Chang

Emerging Filmmaker: KM 82 — Marinel de Jesus

These films, along with an additional 40 official selections, are part of our growing collection of films that reflect the diverse stories of trails across 34 countries. If films from our 2022 season highlighted themes of adaptive recreation and accessibility, mental health, and the trails’ contributions to communities, many of this year’s new films reveal stories at the intersection of trails and climate change, women on trail (and as pros in the trail industry!), and personally transformative experiences on trails.
