Where Bamboo Bends, Paths Endure

In rural Taiwan, an aging bamboo craftsman and his apprentice struggle to preserve an ancient bridge-building tradition before it disappears forever.

In Yunlin, Taiwan, an elderly master and his apprentice harvest “red-flesh” bamboo to construct a traditional humpback bridge. Between technical trials of fire-bending and structural precision, the craftsman reflects on his heritage and a life of resilience, as sturdy and unyielding as the bamboos.
