Benefit Organizations
Local Organization
Southern Appalachian Wilderness Stewards (SAWS)
SAWS sets standards of excellence that inspire, connect, and equip people to steward wild landscapes. We believe that taking care of wild public lands and connecting them to the next generation matters and share responsibility to create equity in access to the outdoors. We work hard for our community to take care of remote areas and trails by hiring enthusiastic and talented staff, providing workforce capacity in traditional trail skills, expertise in trail maintenance, and training in environmental stewardship.
