Goal Zero Power Moves: Quinn Brett and the Tour Divide

Adaptive cyclist Quinn Brett explores the Great Divide – a physical 2,450-mile journey over the US Continental Divide by handcycle, and also other great divides that separate and stratify us.

2,450 miles, 25 days, 1 adaptive hand bike. Accomplished athlete and all-around badass Quinn Brett became the first documented adaptive cyclist to complete the Great Divide Mountain Bike Route, or the Tour Divide. Relying on a custom hand bike equipped with a built-in motor, Quinn and her riding partner Joe Foster were able to tackle roughly 100 miles per day, charging from Montana to southern New Mexico in just under a month. Their completion of the Tour Divide served not only as a personal achievement, but proof that recreation will not be hindered by physical challenges. Quinn’s motivation to do and be better quite literally paves the way to greater access to the outdoor world for all abilities.
